RADUCANU -5, SABALENKA SURGES, PAOLINI -3: WTA RANKINGS WIMBLEDON WEEK 1 WINNERS & LOSERS

The opening week of Wimbledon is coming to its conclusion – and there has been plenty of drama.

Countless big names and top seeds have fallen by the wayside early on, with three of the top four seeds losing in the opening two rounds.

All that means that there are plenty of players making big moves up the WTA Live Rankings, while several are dropping down ahead of the official post-tournament update.

Here, we look at some of the biggest WTA Rankings winners and losers from the opening three rounds of action at the All England Club.

The big winners

Already across the tournament, there have been some big WTA Rankings winners.

World No 1 Aryna Sabalenka was guaranteed to hold on to her lead atop the WTA Rankings regardless of results at the event, though her already sizable lead looks set to grow.

With zero points to defend after last year’s withdrawal, Sabalenka is already up 240 points to 11,880 points after reaching the fourth round, with world No 2 Coco Gauff and No 3 Jessica Pegula out.

Should the Belarusian win the title, she would soar to a staggering 13,640 points.

With several seeds crashing out early, there are plenty of big movers further down the WTA Rankings.

Former top-15 star and Grand Slam runner-up Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova is provisionally back up 15 places to world No 35, ahead of her round-four clash versus Sonay Kartal.

British star Kartal is also provisionally up in the WTA Live Rankings, currently sitting at a new career high of world No 44.

The first lucky loser in the Open Era to reach round four of the women’s singles event, Solana Sierra is set to soar 36 places to world No 65 as things stand, eclipsing her previous high of world No 100.

Sierra faces Laura Siegemund in the fourth round on Sunday, with the German herself up 31 places to world No 73 in the WTA Live Rankings ahead of her match.

After beating Dayana Yastremska on Saturday to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the first time, Jessica Bouzas Maneiro is up 12 places to a new provisional high of world No 50.

The big losers

Within the top 10, the biggest drop will be that of Jasmine Paolini, who was the fourth seed coming into the tournament.

The Italian reached the Wimbledon final last summer but was stunned in round two by Kamila Rakhimova this week, and dropped 1,230 points as a result.

Paolini is provisionally down to world No 8 in the live rankings, though could drop further depending on other results across the second week of action.

Another notable name set for a big drop down the WTA Rankings will be Donna Vekic, who Paolini beat in the semi-final twelve months ago.

After an indifferent year, the Croatian’s second-round loss to Cristina Bucsa currently has her dropping down a staggering 27 places to world No 52 as things stand, though she could yet fall further.

How Aryna Sabalenka emulated impressive Serena Williams feat with battling Wimbledon win

Emma Raducanu’s run to the third round was undoubtedly positive after an injury-troubled grass season heading in, but her failure to defend fourth-round points will also see her fall.

Provisionally, Raducanu is down five places to world No 45 in the WTA Live Rankings and will drop down to British No 3 regardless of results across the rest of this tournament.

Amid her recent struggles, Anna Kalinskaya is currently projected to drop eight places to world No 47, while Ons Jabeur drops 11 places to world No 70 as things stand.

The Tunisian was forced to retire injured in the first round, after reaching round three back in 2024.
