Kevin De Bruyne fumed after Belgium's Euro 2024 exit against France as the Man City star labelled a journalist's line of questioning as 'stupid'.
The unhappy Belgian spoke to reporters in the mixed zone at the Dusseldorf Arena after Jan Vertonghen's 85th minute own goal gifted the Les Blues safe passage to the quarter-finals.
De Bruyne has been part of a Belgium squad nicknamed the 'golden generation' due to their array of world class talents over the years, but has failed to deliver on the major international stage.
The likes of Eden Hazard, De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Thibaut Courtois have all featured for Belgium during the period of the nation's best players, with their Euro 2024 campaign another disappointment.
A probing question tasked De Bruyne with providing an explanation as to why Belgium had failed to deliver on their potential in recent years, but he clearly wasn't in the mood.
Offering a muddled answer where he cited former England and Spain teams, the 33-year-old walked away from reporters and muttered 'stupid' under his breath.
Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri asked the question to the serial Premier League winner and hit out at De Bruyne in a damning post on X later in the evening.
'Ahah DeBruyne just called me stupid. Hey Kevin, little memo for you: the golden generation you mentioned of France, England, Germany and Spain they ALL REACHED A FINAL!' he said.
'Usual footballer that wants only question telling him how good they are. Spoiled brat.'
