This clause, revealed by the Spanish press, makes him immediately available to any potential suitor — especially in Spain. At Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez is looking for a coach and has always held him in high regard. However, no concrete approach has reportedly been made so far.
Settled in Portugal and satisfied with his current environment, Mourinho is said to favor continuing his project at Benfica. A possible move to take charge of the national team after the World Cup is not considered a priority either.
Still, the existence of this special clause is enough to reignite rumors of a potential return to Madrid. With José Mourinho, you can never say never.
