The transfer window is now open again following the start of this summer’s Club World Cup with clubs able to accelerate deals ahead of the new season.
Arsenal chiefs are reportedly in talks with Eberechi Eze as the look to bring a striker to the club in this window. The Gunners have already agreed a fee for Brentford captain Christian Norgaard in a surprising move after contract talks with Thomas Partey have stalled. They have also agreed to pay above the release fee for Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Arteta wants to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko - though talks have stalled somewhat.
Manchester United, meanwhile, have secured Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m and are negotiating with Brentford about Bryan Mbeumo, having submitted an improved offer.
Florian Wirtz is now officially a Liverpool player after agreeing a record £116.5m deal for the German superstar and completed the medical last Friday, while Reds defender Jarell Quansah is set to go the other way in a £35m deal to join Bayern Leverkusen. Liverpool, who have already brought in Jeremie Frimpong, signed Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, on Thursday as they continue to strengthen ahead of the new season.

Enzo Maresca believes that Liam Delap will be very successful at Chelsea based on his performances at the Club World Cup so far.
Maresca told reporters: “We know Liam is going to score goals for us, we don’t have any doubts about that.
“Against Flamengo he had three clear chances to score goals, so that is a good feeling because it means he is there, he is in the right position and doing well.
“Unfortunately, he didn’t score against Flamengo, but he scored here.
“We expect the process to be quite quick with Liam because we know him and he knows us in the way we want to play.”
Manchester United are ready to accept a lower price for Alejandro Garnacho in order to move him on and raise funds for transfer this summer.
The Daily Star are reporting that United, who initially valued Garnacho at £70m, would accept offers as low at £45m for the winger.
The Argentine is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford after a falling out with manager Ruben Amorim.
He recently posted a photo of himself on Instagram wearing an Aston Villa shirt with Marcus Rashford’s name on the back.
Burnley have announced that Ashley Barnes has signed a new one-year deal.
The forward has played over 300 times for the Clarets and scored 42 Premier League goals.
"I have unfinished business," Barnes said on his extenison.
"I'm not done yet and I'm here to challenge for a place in the squad, as well as helping everyone out and being in that environment around the changing room.
"I can bring a lot of knowledge and experience to the new lads and younger players. There's a few of us that have been in the Premier League before and a few that are new to it, it's about having that balance in the team and I have to use my influence on and off the pitch to help where I can."
Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Heaton has extended his contract at Old Trafford until 2026.
Heaton would have left the club at the expiry of his previous contract this summer but has signed on for a further year.
The 39-year-old has made just three appearances since rejoining the club in 2021.
With Jarell Quansah heading to Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool are set to launch a bid for Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.
That’s according to The Telegraph, who say the Reds are in pole position to sign the England man, despite interest from Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle.
Spurs bid £70m for Guehi in January (£55m guaranteed) but couldn’t convince Palace to sell. However, the defender is now entering the final year of his contract, which may force the Eagles’s hand.
Arsenal's first offer for Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera has reportedly been rejected, according to the Mirror.
Sky in Germany stated that RB Leipzig had also been interested in Mosquera but did not want to meet Valencia's valuation of around £25m.

20-year-old Cristhian Mosquera is entering his final 12 months of a contract at Valencia and Arsenal hope to sign him as cover for William Saliba and Gabriel.

In less encouraging news for Arne Slot, Ibrahima Konate is reported by The Guardian to have turned down an initial offer of a new contract, with the central defender said to be disappointed by the terms tabled.
Konate has one year left on his current deal and could yet become the subject of bids if other clubs wish to test Liverpool’s resolve if no contract breakthrough is made.

Daniel James is closing in on a contract extension at Leeds United, according to The Athletic.
The 27-year-old is about to enter the final year of his current deal but the club are keen to tie him down beyond next summer.
James contributed 12 goals and nine assists in 36 Championship games to help Leeds gain promotion back to the Premier League last season.

Keith Andrews has been appointed Brentford head coach on a three-year contract, Sky Sports News are reporting.
The appointment as Thomas Frank’s successor is expected to be announced by the West London club later on Friday.
Andrews has been part of their coaching staff since last year and becomes Brentford’s second successive promotion from within after Frank.
Frank had been Dean Smith’s assistant before taking over as head coach in 2018.

Chelsea nevertheless want £50m for Madueke, which is not a price Arsenal want to go to right now. There is a possibility a deal may be revived later in the summer.

Myles Lewis-Skelly has agreed a new long-term contract with Arsenal
Sky Sports News understands it is a five-year contract, taking Lewis-Skelly up to the summer of 2030.
