Rio Ferdinand offered a one-word response to Chelsea fans who jeered Mason Mount during the Manchester United star's Stamford Bridge return.

Mount, who grew up at Chelsea, signing for the club as a young boy before leaving in 2023 at the age of 24, received a hostile reception from Blues supporters as he lined up for his side in their last match before the Europa League final.

One fan took to social media to ask Ferdinand his thoughts on the events, posting: 'Hi @rioferdy5 & @piersmorgan, what are your thoughts on Mason Mount getting booed by Chelsea fans?

'His own boyhood club booing him. This must be an absolute disgrace and have full media attention for the next week.'

Ferdinand replied: 'Deluded.'
