CIARáN FRAWLEY AND CORMAC FOLEY SIGN NEW DEALS WITH LEINSTER

LEINSTER HAVE CONFIRMED that versatile back Ciarán Frawley has signed a new contract which will keep him at the province until the end of next season.

Frawley, 26, has most recently been deputising for Hugo Keenan at fullback in Leinster’s Champions Cup knockout games and made his 90th appearance for the Blues in last Saturday’s Champions Cup semi-final victory over Northampton at Croke Park.

Skerries native Frawley, who played his underage rugby for Skerries RFC and Skerries Community College, made his debut for Leinster against Scarlets while he was still a first-year academy player in February 2018.

He also covers out-half and inside centre which has made him a valuable utility option for both Leinster boss Leo Cullen and Ireland head coach Andy Farrell, under whom he has earned four test caps since last year.

While routinely linked with other provinces due to Leinster’s bountiful options at out-half in particular, Frawley will remain at Leinster next year having been announced as the latest in a growing line of extensions.

Earlier, Leinster confirmed that scrum-half Cormac Foley would also remain at the province until at least the end of next season.

The former Ireland U20 international signed his first professional contract in 2022 and is a graduate of the Leinster academy having featured seven times for the team this season.

Foley’s new deal comes just 24 hours after Max Deegan committed his future to Leinster while Will Connors and Ryan Baird are also staying put along with winger Tommy O’Brien.

Academy prop Jack Boyle also recently signed his first senior deal with the province.
